"O Lord, our Lord,
excellent is Your name in all the earth,
Who have set Your glory above the heavens!...
When I consider Your
heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?"
The Name of
“...to those who
are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with
all who in every place call on the name of Jesus
Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: Grace to you and
peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."
“Peter said to
them, 'Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the
name of Jesus Christ for the 'remission of sins; and
you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 'For the promise
is to you and 'to your children, and 'to all who are afar off,
as many as the Lord our God will call.”
'Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you:
In the name of Jesus Christ
rise up and walk.'” Acts 3:6

whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here
before you whole. This is the stone which was rejected by you
builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is
there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under
heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
“So they called
them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach
in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered
and said to them, 'Whether it is right in the sight of God to
listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot
but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”
“...when they had
.called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded
that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and
let them go. So they departed from the presence of the council,
rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for
His name. And daily in the temple, and in every house,
they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ."
believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the
kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both
men and women were baptized."
For His name's sake
“If the world
hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.
If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet
because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of
the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the
word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his
master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute
you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But
all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake,
because they do not know Him who sent Me. ...
“He who hates Me hates My Father also.... But this happened
that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law,
'They hated Me without a cause.’" John 15:18-25
deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be
hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then
many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate
one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and
deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love
of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall
be saved. And this pgospel of the kingdom will be preached
in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the
end will come."
“Now brother will
deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and
children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put
to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake.
But he who endures to the end will be saved."
arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or
premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in
that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the
Holy Spirit. Now brother will betray brother to death,
and a father his child; and children will rise up against
parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will
be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who
endures to the end shall be saved."
“But the Lord
said to him, 'Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My
name before 'Gentiles, kings, and the children f Israel.
For I will show him how many things he must suffer
for My name’s sake.”
“I write to you,
little children, because your sins are forgiven you
His name’s sake."

forth for His name’s sake."
3 John 7
In His Name
things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But
the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will
send in My name, He will teach you all things,
and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the
world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid."
“For where two or
three are gathered together in My name, I am
there in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20
you ask the Father in My name He will give you.
Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will
receive, that your joy may be full." John 16:24
“Jesus said, 'Do
not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle
name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. For he who is
not against us is on our side. For whoever gives you a cup
of water to drink in My name, because you belong
to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his
will follow those who believe: In My name they
will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they
will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it
will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick,
and they will recover.”
“You did not
choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should
go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father
in My name He may give
I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will
do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go
to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name,
that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. If you love Me, keep My commandments."
“He was in the
world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did
not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not
receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the
right to become children of God, to those who believe in
His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will
of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
“Now when He was
in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed
in His name when they saw the signs which He did. But
Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men,
and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew
what was in man."
“Then He said to
them, 'Thus it is written, 'and thus it was necessary for the
Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 'and
that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in
His name 'to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 'And
'you are witnesses of these things."
Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples,
which are not written in this book; but these are written that
you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,
and that believing you may have life in His name."
“But you denied
the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be
granted to you, and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised
from the dead, of which we are witnesses. And
His name, through faith in His name, has made this
man strong, whom
you see and know."
“Take heed that
no one deceives you. For many will come in My name,
saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many. But when you
hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such
things must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will
rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will
be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines
1and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows."
“I know your works,
your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are
evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are
not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have
patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become
weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your
first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and
do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your
lampstand from its place—unless you repent."
Victory in His
also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above
every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should
bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the
earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father."
