He is the sovereign King of the universe
"Be
still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the
nations...."
Psalm 46:10
"I am the Lord,
and there is no other; I form the light and create darkness, I make
peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things." Isaiah
45:6-7
"You
are my God. My times are in Your hand."
Psalm 31:14
"...in all these
things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor
principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall
be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ
Jesus our Lord." Romans
8:37-39
"For
every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand
hills. I know all the birds of the mountains, and the wild
beasts of the field are Mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell
you; for the world is Mine, and all its fullness." Psalm 50:10-12
"... the instant I speak
concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to
plant it, if it does evil in My sight so that it does
not obey My voice, then I will relent concerning the good with
which I said I would benefit it."
Jeremiah
18:7-10
"Whatever the Lord
pleases He does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deep places.
He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth...."
Psalm 135:6
"...our God is
in heaven; He does whatever He pleases.
Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
They have mouths, but they do not speak;
eyes they have, but they do not see...
Those who make them are like them;
so is everyone who trusts in them."
Psalm 115:3-8
His plans are already accomplished in His eternity
"God,
who made the world and everything in it... is Lord of heaven
and earth.... He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And
He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all
the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed
times. ... [I]in Him we live and move and have our being."
Acts
17:23-26, 28
"The Lord of
hosts has sworn, saying, 'Surely, as I have thought, so it
shall come to pass,
And as I have purposed, so it shall stand."
Isaiah 14:24
"For
the Lord has both devised and done what He spoke against
the inhabitants of Babylon."
Jeremiah 51:12
(Foretold long before the fall of Babylon, yet God considered it
done because He had purposed it!)
"O
you [Babylon] who dwell by many waters, abundant in treasures,
Your end has come, the measure of your covetousness."
Jeremiah 51:13
"The
Lord has made everything for its purpose,
even the wicked for the day of trouble."
Proverbs 16:4
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly
places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the
foundation of the world, that we should be holy and
without blame before Him...."
Ephesians 1:3-4
"[The
beast] was given authority to continue for forty-two months.
Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme
His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was
granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome
them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and
nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose
names have not been written in the Book of
Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."
Revelation 13:5-8

“When
He utters His voice— there is a multitude of waters in the
heavens:
He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth...."
Jeremiah
51:16
In light
of His infinite wisdom, man's "wisdom" is rubbish
"For
the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is
written, 'He catches the wise in their own craftiness'; and again,
'The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.'"
1 Corinthians 3:19-20
"Jesus knew
from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who
would betray Him. And He said, 'Therefore I have said to
you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to
him by My Father.'” John
6:64-65
"But
My people would not heed My voice, and Israel would
have none of Me. So I gave them over to their own stubborn
heart, to walk in their own counsels. Oh, that My people
would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! I would
soon subdue their enemies...."
Psalm 81:11-14
Apart from Him,
our feeble works are worthless
"I am the vine,
you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears
much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing."
John 15:5
"...all our righteousness are like filthy rags..."
Isaiah 64:6
"The
mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps."
Proverbs 16:9
"Now
then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were
pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be
reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin
for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
2 Corinthians 5:20-21
How then can
we argue against our Creator?
"You
will say to me then, 'Why does He still find fault? For who
has resisted His will?' But indeed, O man, who are you to
reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who
formed it, 'Why have you made me like this?'"
Romans 9:19-20
Sovereign over
nations
"The Lord brings
the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect.
The counsel of the Lord stands forever,
the plans of His heart to all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance."
Psalm 33:10-12
"No king is saved by the multitude of an army;
A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.
A horse is a vain hope for safety;
Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope in His mercy to deliver their soul from death,
And to keep them alive in famine." Psalm 33:16-19
"Why do the
nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves -- and the rulers take
counsel together,
Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
'Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their
cords from us.'
He who sits in the heavens shall laugh...
Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure:
Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion...
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him."
Psalm
2:1-7, 12
Exodus 14
"Now the Lord spoke to
Moses, saying: “Speak to the children of Israel, that they turn and
camp before Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea... For
Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, ‘They are bewildered by
the land; the wilderness has closed them in.’ Then I will harden
Pharaoh’s heart, so that he will pursue them; and I will
gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord.” And they did
so.
Now it was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled, and the
heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned against the people; and
they said, “Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from
serving us?” So he made ready his chariot and took his people with
him. Also, he took six hundred choice chariots, and all the chariots
of Egypt with captains over every one of them. And the Lord
hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the
children of Israel...
"And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their
eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were
very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord. Then
they said to Moses, “Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you
taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with
us, to bring us up out of Egypt?... For it would have been better
for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the
wilderness.”
"And Moses said to the
people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord,
which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you
see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight
for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
"And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the
children of Israel to go forward. But lift up your rod, and stretch
out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel
shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. And I indeed
will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them.
So I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, his
chariots, and his horsemen. Then the Egyptians shall know that I
am the Lord....”
And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and
went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and
stood behind them. So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and
the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one,
and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not
come near the other all that night.
"Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused
the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made
the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. So the children
of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the
waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
"And the Egyptians
pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh’s
horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. Now it came to pass, in the
morning watch, that the Lord looked down upon the army of the
Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He troubled
the army of the Egyptians. And He took off their chariot wheels, so
that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said,
“Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them
against the Egyptians.”
"Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea,
that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots,
and on their horsemen.”
"And Moses stretched
out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea
returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into
it. So the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
Then the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen,
and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. Not
so much as one of them remained. But the children of Israel had
walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a
wall to them on their right hand and on their left."

God's Omniscience
Make me a
captive, Lord, and then I shall be free.
Force me to render up my sword, and I shall conqueror be.
I sink in life's alarms when by myself I stand.
Imprison me within Thine arms, and strong shall be my hand.
My heart is weak and poor, when by myself I stand;
It has no spring of action sure; it varies as the wind.
It cannot freely move 'till thou has wrought its chain.
Enslave it with thy matchless love, and deathless it shall reign.
