Humility
"God
has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to
shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of
the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;
and the base things of the world and the things which
are despised God has chosen... that, as it is written,
'He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.'” 1
Corinthians 1:27-31
"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore
humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may
exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He
cares for you."
1 Peter 5:5-6
The Humility Of
Jesus
"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
who,
j
being in the form of God, did not consider it
robbery to
be equal with God,
but
made Himself of no reputation,
taking the form
of a bondservant, and
coming in the
likeness of men.
And being found in appearance as a man, He
humbled Himself and
became
obedient to the point of death,
even the death of the cross.
Therefore God also
has
highly exalted Him and
given Him the name which is above
every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of
those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the
earth, and
that every tongue should confess
that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

His promise
to those who humble themselves
"Come to
Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give
you rest. Take My yoke upon you

am
gentle and
lowly in heart,
and you will find rest
for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is
light.”

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and
purify your hearts,
you double-minded.
Lament and mourn and weep! Let your
laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift
you up."

weaknesses, that the strength of Christ may rest upon
me. Wherefore I take pleasure in weakness: for when I am
weak then am I strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
